HOW TO PLAY

Play against "NEO", a digital opponent to occupy 49 squares. Here are the rules of the game:

1 - Each square has a value ranging between 0 and 7.

2 - The sum total of numbers on all the squares is 101.

3 - The objective of the game is to maximize the total value of squares you occupy.

4 - You are the gold player and NEO plays in red.

5 - You play first to start the game, and then allow NEO to likewise play its turn.

6 - Play by tapping on a silver colored square to occupy it. When you occupy a square, you gain points displayed on it.

7 - Start the game by occupying any outermost square (along the edges of the board).

8 - You are allowed to occupy any unoccupied (silver colored) outermost square (along the edges of the board) or unoccupied square next to one you have occupied (above, below, to the left or to the right).

9 - You may choose a puzzle game to play by searching from list of games, or by tapping on the next button at the bottom right corner of the play screen.

10 - The game ends when there are no more unoccupied squares on the board, or when there are no more valid squares to play, or when all unoccupied squares have the value of zero, or if NEO resigns from the game.

HOW TO WIN

Here are 5 tips on how to outsmart NEO and increase your chances of winning:

1 - Begin by Understanding the Big Picture
Before you make the first move, take time to look at the whole board and know the layout. Look out to the top-left, top-right, center, bottom-left and bottom-right to determine high value sectors. Always keep sight on the progress by stepping back and assessing progress.

2 - Sieze the Middle
Plan your initial moves to the occupy the central position on the board. From there, you influence a larger portion of the board.

3 - Play to Block off Clusters and Regions
Make moves to surround clusters of high value squares so as to block NEO from accessing them. Think of this as how you segment and sequence your moves; divide and conquer one segment at a time to optimize the most effective sequence of play.

4 - Optimize for High Totals
Instead of playing one-off individual high-value squares, anticipate two or three moves ahead and play a combination of moves which yield the highest total score. Have a full cycle strategy to position for future opportunities, beyond the next move.

5 - One-tap to Restart
In case you make a misstep early in the game, simply tap on the restart icon at the bottom of the screen and start again.
